So. In less than two days, through the power of the internet and YOU, the Vermillions raised enough money to replace the things that were stolen and damaged in the break-in. This warms my heart.
Through the incredibly scientific method of writing all of the names of people who forwarded their receipts to me on a piece of paper and then yelling to KT through the wall, "PICK A NUMBER BETWEEN ONE AND ELEVEN," we have a winner. #4, Kayla. Yay Kayla. I will send a necklace to you.
Now, my darling Aussie friend
georgiaclaire asked that, since I'm done helping the Vermillions, I turn my blog attention to a larger issue: the Victorian brush fires.
Has everyone seen this video, of a firefighter giving a koala who was trapped in the fire a drink?
Okay, now that we've had a heartwarming moment, here's the deal. The brush fires have killed nearly 200 people and destroyed more than ONE THOUSAND homes. It's a world problem that will find its solution in the actions of individuals, like the firefighter in the video above.
For a more general Victoria brush fires donation, here's the Red Cross
If you want to help animals specifically, here's a link to the RSPCA.
Same deal as before... forward me proof that you donated and I'll pick someone to win. For every twenty people who donate, I'll pick one, so that means you have a 1/20 shot--- not bad. And you have a 100% chance to feel better about life and the world by helping out your fellow citizens of the world, both two legged and four.
I love humanity. I love you all.
Love,
Beth
